Sailing Byte background

I started my career in 2015 working with Joomla and CodeIgniter. Through attracting more clients by my ability to deliver hiqh-quality work, I needed to find coworkers. This experience and following years have proven my strong team building and leadership skills. After two years and a lot of thinkingI understood that I could not hold on to an unstandardized structure and keep growing while keeping quality at the same time – so in 2017 I established Sailing Byte.

Sailing Byte became quite an adventure itself. I needed to learn both how to run a business and how to improve my non-coding skills. At the same time, it was necessary to always provide best possible quality to our clients. That’s how the idea of making Partnership the main driving force emerged. As Sailing Byte was a very versatile software house, we’ve been able to get more clients in USA, Great Britain and Poland – although at some point we’ve decided to focus on Laravel and React.js as technology and Real Estate, Social Media and Logistics as business category specialisations –  which allowed us to deliver greater quality.

But next steps were necessary – Agile transformation.

Certification path to perfection

Implementing an Agile approach and mindset company-wide was very hard, but it needed to happen to be able to keep delivering best possible outcomes. As a result of implementation every company metric I measured improved: client satisfaction, developer satisfaction, income, project delivery time and so on. Such deep changes required knowledge – I wouldn’t be really satisfied if I did bare minimum; that’s why I chose to go with second-level SCRUM certificates. Currently I am a proud holder of following official Scrum.org and other:

  • Professional Scrum Product Owner II – Expert in driving Agile product development, focusing on maximizing value and aligning with customer needs.
  • Professional Scrum Master II – Proven ability to lead Scrum teams effectively, ensuring high productivity and quality.
  • Professional PAL-Evidence Based Management – Specialized in evidence-based management to drive informed decision-making and optimize business outcomes.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt – Skilled in process improvement and quality management, with a focus on reducing variability and improving efficiency.
  • ASBIRO – Acquired skills in communicating in the B2B field with other Entrepreneurs and Stakeholders.

There are no incidents in selection of these certificates and if you take a closer look, you will see that they are very complementary to each other. They cover both understanding of Agile development process, proper communication with clients and project management, and are tools themselves to improve both Client’s software and internal processes based on metrics.

This resulted in improved performance in the following aspects:

  • Agile and Scrum Methodologies – Experience in implementing Agile frameworks to streamline product development, enhance team productivity, and accelerate time-to-market.
  • Project Management and Lifecycle – End-to-end management of product lifecycles from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet market needs and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Product Ownership and EBM Business Perspective – Understanding business perspective and vision on the project leading to great communication between cross-functional teams and stakeholders, across diverse geographies

Measurable results are real outcomes

All of the above together had their outcome in both my business and my Client’s businesses. Results became visible and measurable. You can actually see them on case studies page, but I would like to present it to you here in different perspective as well. Results were noticeable not only by clients, but by Sailing Byte itself as well.

  • Product Ownership – Championed Agile methodologies, resulting in a 25% improvement in project delivery times and a significant boost in client satisfaction. Managed numerous bespoke projects in various industries, including real estate, clean energy, design, e-health, HR systems, automotive – both fixed-price and agile ($10’000-$500’000 in size).
  • Agile Leadership – Utilized Evidence Based Management to create workshops for incoming and exiting clients. This resulted in selecting better KPIs by clients, numerous backlog optimizations and quality selection of clients to work with company.
  • Sprints Standardization – Enforced tools for Agile projects such as Slack, Asana and Jira. Educated both clients and developers, resulting in improved satisfaction measured surveys.
  • Business Growth & Strategy – Expanded the client base in the UK market, diversifying revenue streams and enhancing financial stability. Designed framework and strategy for measuring effectiveness of distinct marketing channels, which resulted in optimal fund allocation. Implemented automated system for reporting financial company status.
  • Infrastructure & Virtualization – Designed and managed scalable infrastructure using Proxmox, VPS, and dedicated servers. Standardized infrastructure resulted in easier servers and service monitoring, management and three-level backup plan, reducing server management costs by 15%.
  • DevOps & Automation – Introduced CI/CD pipelines, headless code standardization and self-hosted culture, which resulted in seamless integration and deployment of applications, horizontal scalability and eliminated human error in deployment process. Implemented tools for error monitoring, resulting in almost instant reaction for critical systems.
  • Technology Leadership – Enforcing headless code standardization allowed for better specialization of developers, which led to the company’s ability to introduce additional technology – Flutter – seamlessly in existing structures and ultimately resulted in new projects.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution – Developed and executed the company’s strategic plan, optimizing resource allocation and reducing cost overhead below 3%.
  • Financial Optimizations – Implemented tax optimization strategies, yielding a 15% benefit for both the company and its employees. Successfully managed the company’s financial operations, ensuring healthy cash flow.

Of course, since constant improvement is a requirement – that’s not the end of the list or effort. More is happening every month in process of pursuing perfection in order to deliver best Partnership deals.

Need to share knowledge

From need to share came paid workshops for incoming clients, especially those interested in builiding a business from scratch. But not everything can be covered in limited time, also there are some technical aspects that should be discussed and published. As a result, you can see that currently blog is getting bigger every month – and I haven’t covered even half of the content plan in there! There’s much more coming and I do really encourage you to visit blog and deepen your knowledge. You will find it especially useful if you want to start cooperation with software house.

That’s why we utilize both wide set of tools and our knowledge to deliver projects. Our specialization is delivering custom SaaS solutions in connection with newest technologies and numerous integrations, which results in unprecedented effects. We are taking care of everything: from validating business idea, through domain buying, creation process, SSL certificates, backups ending with constant improvement process and KPIs measurements for expected growth.

We are making web apps function on all devices: PC computers, Mac, iPhones and Android devices, as it is a necessary standard nowadays, so that client can reach your product anywhere. We are always creating for specific end user – adjusted to requirements and needs – as the end user is always the one who validates the whole business.

We have done over 100 two-way integrations with more than 50 partners using different API technologies, because nowadays web app cannot thrive when isolated from external data or AI. We have cooperated with companies like AximDesign, Authorize.net, FamilyWatchdog, TransUnion, Microbilt, Convio, iContact, Healcode and others.
